2013. One-week ecodesign lab’, Bauhaus School, Germany

School of Architecture Bauhaus DIA, Dessau, Germany

An interdisciplinary workshop for the Masters’ students using only used materials and low tech’ means. On day 1, they went to collect unwanted material on the school campus; they came back with a leather coach that was ripped off on the street. They decided to make wallet, computer case, ipad cover, cardholder and a complete collection of “maroquinerie” was born. .... They learnt to use a sewing machine; many of them preferred to stitch by hands the different materials.

On day 3, they switch to different materials: food wraps, inner tubes, tetrapacks, magazines that they wove to create a new structures such as a hammock and placemats. What a success!
